Scope of Solar Panels in Pakistan

Although people are using solar energy in Pakistan at different levels yet its use is limited to certain areas of application and at very few locations. The main factor which is limiting some other resources is the cost and available technology. The wind produced electricity is possible only at coastal sea line or nearby areas. It is also possible in the windy mountainous areas. Solar energy is a very pollution free and quiet way of producing electricity. But its cost is high compared to other sources. From atomic energy it is the cheapest. Here initial cost is high but then it goes for fifty to hundred years. It also takes time to establish these plants. Thermal energy is quicker and cheaper to produce, but its operational cost is high and its life time is also small in comparison.

Solar Electricity vs. Atomic Electricity

One can compare solar electricity to atomic electricity for cost benefit ratio. Its plus point is quicker and easy installation. Its life is also long with a minimum span of twenty five years. Its output falls by roughly 20 percent afterwards but can go for many decades again. Solar panels are delicate to install. They must be protected from vandalism later on. This is the only caretaking point in it because they are made of glass. They require a good amount of land area to be installed. Depending upon the quality and efficiency of the solar panel its cost is based. In space technology, it is the only source of energy. They are very efficient and very costly. For commercial purpose, its cost and somewhat efficiency is lowered. But still it is highly workable.

Users Guide

1. First time it can take from two to three shiny days to charge the battery. If you like to make use of the solar unit immediately, get the battery charged from any battery shop before connecting it to the solar unit.

2. For longer life do not get battery charged from any battery shop afterward on regular basis. Let it be charged by the sun. During rainy or cloudy days reduce its use as per the situation. Because it depends on shining sun. SAVE it from hail storms otherwise the solar panel will be broken.

3. When you remove the battery for some purpose, do not use the solar unit directly. It can burn the AC making unit.

4. Never connect it with the home electricity. Keep its use separate. This is for its and your safety.

5. Take care of the positive and negative of the solar panel and the inverter and the battery. Wrong connection will destroy it, under entirely your own responsibility.

6. Keep the solar unit except the solar panel in shade. Direct temperatures of more than 40 degree centigrade to the solar unit except panel are dangerous to it.

7. If you make use of the above precautions, your battery can go for three years. Solar panel can go for 20 to 25 years. Inverter system can also have long life of many years whose normal warranty is of six months, time oriented.

8. Take care of the water level of battery. Use clean filtered water. Do not fill it above the higher level and do not let it fall below the lower level.

9. Keep the solar panel free of dust.

10. If you make wrong use and destroy it, responsibility will be entirely your own.
