Life has taught me one thing repeatedly and most vehemently that "dont underestimate anyone"...Everyone has something to offer and
give to society and you never know who touches your heart when, leaving you a better person.
Weekend, and i had to do grocery, my regular vegetable shop near home. Like always i saw that small 6yr old pathan kid washing
Cabbages and Carrots in that dirty old plastic tub. Today something was different, he was angry and his fair milky complexion had
those red n pinkish blush of anger on it, making him all the more adorable with his shabby clothes and colorful cap.
I asked
"Chotay Khan Saab kya hoa?"
and he complained:
"Saab! ye Iqbal(shop owner) sara din hamse kaam laita hai aur paisa bhi time pe nai daita, hum dukaan chor ke ja raha hai"
i asked:
"Khan kahan jao ge? 3000rp daita hai ye Iqbal, koi aur kaam bhi nahi hai tumhare pass, jao ge kahan?"
and what he said left me with the realization of shame on my beleif and my unthankfulness, even after every blessing of God,
he said with sheer amazement in his eyes:
"Sahab! tumko nai maloom? Allah hai na(raising his index finger up), jo sabko daita hai wo humko bhi day ga, aur zyada de ga, yahan 3000 milta hai kahin 4000 de ga, phir humko kya fikr bhala???"...
and i had nothing to say and he smiled n started rubbing cabbages again.
